A transmission tower stands in a valley in a steep mountain range. A few workers work on the tower. This is the scene in Bozorboy Brunov, 30 kilometers from Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. Electricity generated by a small hydroelectric power plant is sent through this transmission line to 60 households, as well as to local schools, hospitals, and other facilities.
Neighboring Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have made great strides in digitization in various aspects of society, and Tajikistan is following their model. On the other hand, more than 90% of Tajikistan is mountainous, and after delivering electricity to the entire country, the challenge now is to increase access to the Internet.
