It depicts a refugee with luggage, but it is not an unknown refugee. It is Steve Jobs, one of the co-founders of Apple Inc. In fact, Mr. Jobs has never been a refugee, but his father was an immigrant from Syria.
Banksy made a rare statement about the paintingannounced that the company has been working with the Syrian government. He said that although refugees and immigrants are often thought of as a "burden" to the host country, we should not forget that it was because of the immigrants from Syria that the giant Apple Inc. was born and has grown so much.
