This is Santiago, the capital of Chile.
The building looming large in the center of the photo is a 64-story skyscraper called the Gran Torre Santiago. Opened in 2014, it is said to be the tallest building in South America.
The building is part of an integrated complex called Costanera Center. Costanera Center consists of one of the largest shopping malls in South America and three towers, including the Gran Torre Santiago. It includes business offices, a hotel, and a movie theater.
While some cities continue to develop, many people in Chile struggle to make ends meet. Disparities in the country have remained unresolved for many years.
