I didn't know about all of this. In fact, I think there are some news that you don't need to know about. However, I thought that many people should read this book because it is filled with many issues, including poverty and climate change, that are not at a level where it is acceptable to say "I didn't know.

We've had 10 great news stories this year! Thank you, and we hope to see you again soon!
In one year, global inequality has widened so much, yet the major media do not report on it at all.
It is sad that even though I read newspapers seriously, I cannot grasp the current situation of the world at all.

Pandora Document, despite the names of prominent Japanese personalities, you have had limited coverage.
Some people dismiss it as having nothing to do with Japan, but in a highly globalized society, everything that happens in the world is somehow connected to our society and our lives. I hope GNV will continue to address these issues in the future.

I felt that the major Japanese media should report more neutrally the news we should know (information that has a great impact on the world).
Of the top 10, many of the articles about the Southern Hemisphere were interesting to read because I was learning about them for the first time.

In these days when the SDGs are being called for, it made me think about the fact that this kind of news had not been reported in the media. I have the impression that the positive aspects of the SDGs, such as "we are implementing such and such initiatives related to the SDGs," are often covered in the media, but I feel that it is necessary to pay close attention to the negative aspects as well.

There are so many events with zero coverage that it gives the illusion that the Pandora document with 11 articles reported in the Asahi Shimbun is a lot, but even 11 articles is small enough.
Another article in GNV mentioned that the relationship with Japan has a lot to do with the amount of coverage, and I think that is really true when looking at the ranked events. I felt that the media should take into account the importance of the event to the world, not its importance to Japan.

I felt that it was all serious news, but to be honest, there were many things I did not know until I read this article.
I reflected on the fact that the media is responsible for the amount of zero coverage, but also that we, the public, are responsible for not paying attention to these issues.
