Have you ever heard of the dog festival "Kukul Tihar"? It is a festival held once a year in Nepal to bless dogs, which are considered to be messengers of God in Hinduism.
On this day, not only domesticated dogs, but also police dogs and stray dogs, without distinction, wear a marigold necklace "mala" and put a red powder called "tika" on their foreheads. People then serve treats to the dogs as a token of their appreciation. On this day, which is the only day when dogs play the leading role, people do not get angry even if the dogs misbehave.
