These are Rohingya refugee women attending a baking class in Malaysia Since 2010, the International Catholic Migration Commission(ICMC) has been working with refugee communities in Malaysia to prevent and respond to gender-based violence working. It seeks to contribute to the empowerment of refugees by providing education and vocational training to help them become economically independent. This baking class is part of that effort.
In recent years, however, the number of asylum seekers being deported to Myanmar in Malaysia has increasing. What will happen to refugees and asylum seekers in Malaysia in the future?
