In July 2023, at several Canadian ports, including this Port of Vancouver, the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) ledstrike (i.e. industrial action)took place. Negotiations to end the dispute, which stemmed from a strike for better wages and benefits, were difficult, but in August the employer and workers reached a finalagreementwas approved. However, the supply chain that occurred during the strikeconfusionis expected to continue for the next few months.
