This is Antigua, a city in Guatemala, Central America.
This city, located 50 km from the current capital, Guatemala City, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Embraced by Mount Agua, a 3,760-meter-high volcano, the city was once the capital of Guatemala.
Baroque architecture influenced by Spain, which was the ruler of the region, and a number of churches built during the colonial period still remain. The yellow arched building with the clock tower is part of the convent. It was built so that nuns could come and go without going outside. The name of this city means "old and good.
It is also a tourist attraction, and hiking and farmers' markets that allow visitors to feel the grandeur of nature are popular. If you are planning to stay in the area, a hotel housed in a monastery building is also attractive.
Antigua is a city with a long history and a mixture of cultures, surrounded by magnificent nature.
The "old" city is charming enough for first-time visitors to Guatemala.
