The Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe is a country that exists as a small island in the western part of Africa.
It consists of Principe, Sao Tome, and other islands, the largest of which is Sao Tome, where more than 90% of the population lives.
And here is a church on the island of Principe.
It is a small country with a population of only 200,000 and an area of only 964㎢.
It gained independence from Portugal in 1975.
At first the system was more socialist, but now there are legitimate elections.
Its main industry is agriculture, and it is one of the poorest countries in the world in terms of GDP.
The economy depends on support from other countries.
Although the country is trying to develop through tourism, it is not going well due to access and infrastructure problems.
However, there has been recent development of oil fields, which seems to be having a significant impact on the country.
