The Blue Nile River, a river that flows through Ethiopia.
This river originates in Lake Tana and joins the White Nile in Sudan, eventually leading to the largest river in the world, the Nile.
As the saying goes, "Egypt is the gift of the Nile," and while the Nile is still an important source of water for Egypt today, more than half of its water comes from the Blue Nile.
However, Ethiopia and Egypt are in a state of conflict over the water.
For the purpose of further economic development, Ethiopia is building a huge dam on the Blue Nile River.
The Egyptians are concerned that once that dam is completed, the amount of water flowing downstream will decrease and they will suffer water shortages.
Aligning the interests of both parties is difficult and has become a major problem.
