This is Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.
In Nairobi, many cars come and go every day.
However, traffic congestion has become a major problem due to factors such as less developed railroads, inadequate road maintenance, and drivers who do not follow traffic rules very well.
In the worst cases, police even have to direct traffic at signalized intersections.
However, it seems that in some cases, the police are not doing their job of traffic control properly.
For example, they intentionally stop only one road long enough to accept bribes from numb drivers.
The police, who are trying to ease traffic congestion, are conversely causing it.
There are other factors that hinder the smooth running of vehicles, such as herds of cattle led by Maasai cattle herders crossing the main road, and peddlers rushing in while vehicles are stopped.
To improve traffic congestion in Kenya, it is not enough to simply focus on the infrastructure aspect; measures will need to be taken from a variety of perspectives.
